Artist's Comments

Another piece from my sculpture class. Our assignment was to make a "Goblet" (a very loose term. Basically it was anything that can hold something inside it) that was a figure of some sort and supported on at least three legs.

Well, with this description, I made an octopus candy bowl. :3 And I decided, like an actual octopus, the colors should look shifty and different depending on the light and angle. Because of this, Raku glazing was the most obvious choice.

Life is like a candy shop; you have to break the security cameras in order to get everything that you want.

I looove the colors! They make it look so underwater-like! Like the inside of a seashell or something. Awesome design!

I have CDO. It's like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but it's in alphabetical order.... as it should be.

:D You should see it in person -- it looks like its carved out of abalone for real.
